About Deep Creek High

Deep Creek High School is a public high school in Chesapeake, Virginia. It is a part of the Chesapeake City Public Schools system and teaches students in grades 9–12. There are about 1,200 to 1,300 students at the school, and there is one teacher for every 17 students. This helps with organized lessons and keeping students interested. Deep Creek High School is one of the district's seven high schools and is known as one of the finest schools in Virginia.There are many different academic options at the school, such as Advanced Placement (AP) classes and tests. About 16% of students are in AP classes. Some of the other programs are honors classes, career and technical education pathways, and activities outside of school that help students get ready for college and work. Deep Creek High School's AFJROTC cadets recently enjoyed a fun-filled Friday at The Airpower over Hampton Roads Air Show and student STEM Day on Langley Air Force Base. The school's AFJROTC drill teams also did well at the State competition, with 4 out of 6 teams finishing in the top 5. This gave Deep Creek an overall 4th place finish. Dhanvi Sheth also did well at the VHSL State Debate Tournament, where she came in third out of 23 Student Congress Debaters.
