The school has about 900 to 1,000 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1, which helps keep students interested in school. A. C. Flora High is known as one of the best schools because it has a college-preparatory curriculum and a lot of Advanced Placement® courses. 52% of students take AP classes. Students also take tests to see if they are ready for college, like the SAT and ACT. In school, 22% of students are good at math and 73% are good at reading and ELA. The student body is very diverse, with 53% of students being minorities and 100% of students being economically disadvantaged. Funding per student is in line with district standards that support student services and instructional programs. A. C. Flora High School continues to help students make smooth transitions between grades by holding special orientation events, like the Parent and Student Orientation Night in early 2026, to help new students understand their Individual Graduation Plans. The campus is also a center for scientific research. For example, students recently gave presentations on their own biochemistry research at the 2025 South Carolina Junior Academy of Science meeting. The athletic department is also still busy with the 2025–2026 wrestling season and the start of practices for several spring sports that are set to begin in February.
