Dr. Ronald E McNair High School is a public magnet high school in Jersey City, New Jersey. It serves students in grades 9–12 and focuses on preparing them for college and doing well in school. The school has about 700 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1. This makes it a good place for students to take advanced classes and study with others. There are eight high schools in Jersey City Public Schools, and Dr. Ronald E McNair High School is one of them. About 96% of students take Advanced Placement® courses and exams, which are available in a wide range of subjects. About 81% of the students are from minority groups, and about 34% of the students are from low-income families. The school says that during the years 2025–2026, students will be very good at math (about 97%) and reading (about 100%). Dr. Ronald E. McNair High School also helps students get ready for college by letting them take the SAT and ACT. The money spent on each student in the local district goes toward teaching materials and advanced program offerings. The school is in a city with a wide range of housing options.

Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School has made it onto the Platinum AP School Honor Roll, which means it is dedicated to giving students the chance to do well in Advanced Placement classes. Students in the school's Science Research program always do well in competitions like the Hudson County Science Fair and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Students in McNair's Inventing Smart Objects class have worked with students in the Sculpture class to make interactive Haunted Houses that show off their coding, design, and creative skills.
