See top schools in SpringfieldHillcrest High is a public high school in Springfield, Missouri. It is part of the Springfield R-XII School District and serves students in grades 9–12. About 1,200 students go to Hillcrest High, and the student-to-teacher ratio is about 17:1. This makes it easier for students to get help with core subjects. The school is one of nine high schools in the district, and people in the area know it as one of the best. Hillcrest High has a full academic program with college- and career-readiness pathways, elective courses, and chances for students to get involved through hands-on activities. As part of their academic planning, students may take standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. About 32% of the students are minorities, and about 68% of the students are economically disadvantaged. This shows that the student body is diverse in a meaningful way. Data on academic proficiency show that about 18% of students are good at math and 33% are good at reading. The amount of money spent on each student is in line with the averages for public schools in the district and the state.
