About Kapolei High School

Kapolei High School is one of the best schools in West Oahu. It is a large public high school for grades 9 through 12. Supporting an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students with a student-to-teacher ratio of 17:1, the school is among the leading schools for its innovative "Academy" model, which organizes learning around career interests. Students can take Advanced Placement® classes, and 33% of them do. The school reflects a vibrant local demographic with a 94% minority enrollment, while 37% of students are identified as economically disadvantaged, and it is one of the best high school in Hawaii. A 57% proficiency rate in Reading and a 24% proficiency rate in Mathematics are both signs of academic success. The campus also sets up SAT and ACT tests to help students plan for life after high school. Kapolei High School is one of the best schools in the quickly growing "Second City" of Kapolei. It has state-of-the-art facilities and is dedicated to getting a diverse group of students ready for college and careers.

Kapolei High School is making its commitment to green technology stronger by adding more solar-powered charging stations and new renewable energy projects to the Academy of Natural Resources. When the student-run media production team at the school's fine arts department was chosen to broadcast several regional athletic events live to the community in 2026, it took the department to a new level. The school also just started a new "First-Year Transition" mentoring program that pairs upperclassmen with new students to help them become better leaders and do better in school.
