Riverside, with a population of about 315,000, is the historic heart of the Inland Empire. It is known for its citrus heritage and colorful Mediterranean-style buildings. The city has a strong educational system, with dozens of public high schools and a number of private schools that prepare students well for college. The school system stresses academic rigor through Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, while also creating a very diverse and welcoming environment for students.
