Huffman High School is starting a new pre-engineering program that lets students get dual enrollment credits through partnerships with nearby colleges. The school's award-winning marching band recently won first place at a regional competition, showing off their musicality and technical skill. In addition, new college-readiness seminars are held every week to help juniors and seniors get ready for the SAT and apply for scholarships.
Q1. What is the main goal of the Huffman High School Magnet program?
Ans. The magnet program gives students a more interesting curriculum, with a focus on architecture and construction.
Q2. How do schools get students ready for college?
Ans. The school sets up visits to college fairs and ACT tests to make sure that students know a lot about higher education.
Q3. Are students in school able to play sports?
Ans. There are many competitive varsity sports for students to play to improve their health and work together.
Q4. Is STEM a big deal?
Ans. Science and math programs give students a strong base for future technical jobs.
Q5. Are there programs for helping the community?
Ans. School students often take part in local outreach programs to help the Birmingham community and learn about being a good citizen.
