Dogwood is proud to serve students from Pre-K to 6th grade and currently has approximately 739 students enrolled in our close-knit classrooms, with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 13:1. We have 57 highly trained full-time teachers and two caring counselors for our students, in order to focus on both academic success and emotional well-being.
Students are learning in an inclusive learning environment based on our celebration of diversity, with 52% girls, 48% boys, and 86% from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The school recently reported that 49% of students were good at math and 35% were good at reading. The school's work continues to inspire students to grow, gain confidence, become independent, and get involved. Dogwood is one of Virginia's best elementary schools, and families benefit from the charm of the neighborhood and the resources that are close by.
