Columbia Elementary’s principal, Keith Klein, was honored in June 2025 with the JAESP School Improvement Leader of the Year Award. His leadership has driven a data-driven behavior system, a social-emotional curriculum, and increased student engagement.
Q1. What kinds of activities can students do to make their education better?
Ans. Columbia Elementary has fun things to do in the classroom, like art projects, reading events, and lessons that are based on STEM.
Q2. What does the school do to help students who need extra help with their schoolwork?
Ans. Teachers can use intervention sessions, small-group learning, and other ways to give students extra help.
Q3. Do digital tools belong in the classroom?
Ans. Yes, Chromebooks and educational software are often used to help teachers in the classroom.
Q4. Are there chances for students to be leaders at the school?
Ans. Older students can help out by making morning announcements, taking on small leadership roles, and other tasks.
Q5. How do families find out about changes at school?
Ans. Parents get information from newsletters, digital communication apps, and messages from teachers to families.
