The assistant principal at Crestview Elementary was recently promoted to campus leader, which will make the leadership change go smoothly and consistently for the whole school community. The campus is a big part of the district's "Camp Readalot," a summer reading program that has given away thousands of books to keep kids from losing what they learned. The school also recently got a "Superior" rating in the most recent state financial integrity report, which shows that it uses its money well.
Q1. Does Crestview El have a garden or outdoor classroom that is used?
Ans. There is a learning garden on campus where students can learn about life cycles and environmental science by doing things.
Q2. What are the rules for using cell phones at Crestview El?
Ans. To keep kids from getting distracted during the school day, personal devices must stay off and in backpacks.
Q3. Does Crestview El have any classes that teach world languages?
Ans. Through integrated lessons in the weekly fine arts rotation, students learn about basic Spanish vocabulary and cultural traditions.
Q4. What do the safety drills at Crestview El look like?
Ans. The school does fire, lockdown, and severe weather drills on a regular basis to make sure that all students know how to stay safe.
Q5. Do students at Crestview El have a limit on how many books they can check out from the library?
Ans. Students can check out up to two books a week for fun reading and schoolwork.
