The town of Porter, which is situated in Montgomery County, which is northeast of the city of Houston, and has an estimated population of over 30,000, has been growing at a rapid pace as a suburban city. Porter is served by the New Caney Independent School District, which has developed numerous K-12 schools throughout the Porter area and surrounding areas to meet the needs of its growing student population. The New Caney Independent School District provides excellent programs for preparing students for further education.
