Regional Day School for the Deaf continues with the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf program that offers educational services for the learners coming from several districts. This is in line with the commitment of the school in developing the learners, engaging with the community, and promoting academic excellence.
Q1. What are the communication systems utilized at the Regional Day School for the Deaf?
Ans. At the Regional Day School for the Deaf, they adopt a Total Communication philosophy where they use American Sign Language, oral English, and auditory amplification.
Q2. How do you get admitted to the Regional Day School for the Deaf?
Ans. In order to be admitted to the Regional Day School for the Deaf, one should be referred by the Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee (ARD) of the school district from which he or she comes.
Q3. Does the Regional Day School for the Deaf provide any sports programs or extracurricular activities?
Ans. Yes, they offer adapted physical education and other district-wide programs to the students of the Regional Day School for the Deaf.
Q4. What kind of assistance is provided to the parents of the students who are at the Regional Day School for the Deaf?
Ans. They provide Parent Sign Classes as well as a parent support group to enable communication as well as advocacy in relation to their deaf/hard-of-hearing child.
