The Midland Independent School District Board of Trustees recently voted to turn the Lamar Elementary campus into the new home for the Midland Alternative Program. The program will start in the 2026–2027 school year. This move gives the program a dedicated space in the neighborhood, which means more resources and a more personalized learning environment. The goal of the initiative is to improve the specialized support services that students can use to reach their academic and behavioral goals. This change shows that the district is committed to giving all students high-quality, focused learning environments.
