Lantrip El is still working toward its goal in environmental science. Recently, it did hands-on nature projects that used the campus garden a lot. People liked how the school taught outside in a fun way that made kids want to learn more. In 2026, Principal Janet Benavides and her staff are still working to improve their teaching and help their students get better grades.

Ans. Lantrip El features an on-site greenhouse and weather station where students conduct daily environmental science and meteorology research projects.
Q2. Is the Lantrip El uniform different from other Houston ISD schools?
Ans. Lantrip El students wear forest green polos to represent their environmental magnet status, paired with standard khaki or navy bottoms.
Q3. What is the official school mascot for Lantrip El?
Ans. The official mascot for Lantrip El is the Dolphin, representing the school's commitment to intelligence and environmental conservation.
Q4. Does Lantrip El host an annual Earth Day community festival?
Ans. Lantrip El celebrates Earth Day with a large campus festival featuring garden tours, recycling workshops, and local environmental exhibitors.
Q5. How are the campus gardens integrated into the Lantrip El lunch program?
Ans. Students at Lantrip El occasionally harvest vegetables from the campus garden to be used in educational healthy cooking demonstrations.
