In 2026, people will be saying great things about the STEM education at the Houston Math Science and Technology Center. Students do well in math and science competitions. The school has also added more advanced classes and opportunities for students to do research. These help students get ready for hard-to-get-into technical college programs and make them better at thinking critically.

Ans. Yes, in most cases, students have to pass a magnet entrance test given by the district to get in.
Q2. Do students have to take part in STEM competitions?
Ans. Participation is encouraged but not required, depending on the program and the person's interest.
Q3. Are there internships or mentorship programs at the school?
Ans. Yes, students can get internships and mentors in STEM fields.
Q4. Do the classes include art or humanities?
Ans. Yes, there are core humanities classes that go along with the STEM-focused curriculum.
Q5. Does the school offer transportation for students in the magnet program?
Ans. Yes, eligible students from all over Houston can use district transportation to get to school.
