About Roach Elementary School

Roach Elementary School Garland, or rather Routh Roach Elementary, offers schooling for Pre-K to 5th grade. Is part of the Garland ISD. Roach Elementary School was opened in 1972, and it was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for Excellence in Academic Performance and Effective Instruction in 2014.

Roach Elementary School Garland employs an additive, late-exit model of bilingual instruction. Instruction in Spanish is provided until the end of 5th Grade with respect to English language acquisition.

Approximately, 75% of students enrolled are Hispanic, 11% Black, 11% White. 63% of students are classified as English Language Learners and 78% of the students receive economically disadvantaged services. Academic support services including intervention blocks, after-school support, Saturday school, and, accelerated services.There are many resources for students and teachers for reading in both English and Spanish.
