Alton, Texas has a unique culture of elementary education which is typical of the growing city of Alton, Texas that houses about 18,000 people and has a very family-oriented Hispanic culture. The primary provider of education to the citizens is Mission Consolidated Independent School District which runs various public elementary schools in the city including Alton, Cantu, Cavazos, and Waitz Elementary among others.
