Latest News

In the recent news Monroe Elementary has been the center of many good things that show how much it cares about its students' safety, health, goodwill and new ideas in 2025. Monroe opened a new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Foundation Lab in September 2025 for all grades from Pre-K to 5th grade. The lab has building supplies, robotics kits, and hands-on learning tools that are part of the regular curriculum. This lets students learn more about and understand concepts. In May 2024, the school opened new storm shelters as part of a district-wide safety program paid for by a bond from 2019. These shelters can hold all of the students at the school and can also be used as music or multipurpose rooms when they aren't needed for emergencies. Most recently, Monroe was a place where kids under 18 could get free meals in the summer of 2025. These types of changes show that how Monroe Elementary is becoming more focused on making sure all students have equal access, learning through doing, and keeping students safe and healthy.
