In May 2025, Norman Public Schools made a big change in leadership. Yasmin Hoover was named the new principal of Lakeview Elementary after Paula Palermo, who had been the principal for a long time, retired. Hoover has worked in the district for more than 20 years. She was the principal of Roosevelt Elementary and worked at several other NPS schools. The district has also approved bids for the construction of a major renovation at Lakeview Elementary School. The planned upgrade will bring the building up to date by making the bathrooms more accessible to people with disabilities, remodeling the office area, and making general finish improvements. The new leadership and investment in infrastructure show that Norman Public Schools is serious about making Lakeview Elementary a better place to learn and helping it grow.
