Woodward High School was confirmed to remain open under Toledo Public Schools’ Transformation Plan, with Superintendent Dr. Romules Durant announcing in February 2026 that there is no closure of Woodward. The Polar Bears benefit from a $1 million OJJDP grant awarded to the City of Toledo to enhance school safety and family supports at Waite, Woodward, and Scott, funding community action tables, youth mental health first aid training, and partnerships with local organizations. Woodward continues to offer SAT and ACT preparation, career-tech programs, and athletics, including a football win that snapped a 41-game losing streak.
