Established in the bustling suburb of Parma, OH, with a rich history in the local area, Pleasant Valley Elementary currently has a vision of honoring the past and celebrating the future, while educating K–4 students. With 722 students enrolled, the student population is nearly half and half, with 51% males and 49% females. The student body is also representative of diversity, with 35% of students being identified as minorities, and 51% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. The school employs 42 full-time certified teachers, which gives the establishment a student-to-teacher ratio of 17:1. Overall, the 2021-2022 academic year showed that 63% of students were proficient in math, and 55% of students were proficient in reading. Pleasant Valley Elementary also ranked #1017 in Ohio, and #4 in the District of Parma City, consistently. The focus of Pleasant Valley Elementary is academic achievement, equity, and engagement, using the full model of learning and inclusionary practices to provide every student with an excellent education, making it one of the top-ranked elementary schools in Ohio.
