Richardson Elementary School, an essential public school dedicated to quality education, academic success, and the whole-child approach, serves students in K–5 grade in its school community of about 420 students and with a student-teacher ratio of about 14:1, which gives each child the attention, help, and support they deserve. 1) On September 25, 2025, the Cuyahoga Falls City School District announced its intention to close Preston Elementary School at the end of the 2025-26 school year. This decision will prompt the district to create new elementary school boundary lines which may affect the future attending of some Richardson Elementary students at its corresponding elementary school.

2) In May 2024, Richardson Elementary was recognized in the Ohio State Elementary School Hall of Fame (via a state-association honor) as a result of being part of its district's schools that received that award for academic accomplishment.
