Winterset Elementary School is proud to be known as one of the most diverse public elementary schools in the Columbus area with strong PTA and community partnerships. The campus will host its annual Camp Invention summer program to inspire students’ creativity and innovation. Additionally, the school’s Peer Helper program continues to provide vital academic and social support through mentorship by local high school students.

Ans. All students want to create artifacts that show their work and progress in the skills that are specified for their grade level.

Q2. How can families attend the 2025-2026 “Coffee with the Superintendent” meetings?

Ans. These informal meetings are open for families to learn about district updates and provide feedback directly to school leadership.

Q3. What are the safety procedures for visitors coming into Winterset Elementary?

Ans. All visitors must check in at the office and present a state issued ID for a Raptor database background check, and must wear a visitor badge issued by the office at all times.

Q4. Are there summer programs for students interested in science and innovation to further their education?

Ans. Yes, students can attend Camp Invention, a hands-on summer experience that helps build creativity, confidence and imagination .

Q5. What is the Peer Helper program and how does it help elementary students?

Ans. Approved high school tutors are placed in elementary classrooms to provide academic and social support to students in a one-on-one or small group setting.
