Columbus’s Parsons Elementary School had a record enrollment year recently, welcoming many new families to its vibrant and supportive primary academic community. The school held its annual “Parsons Heritage Parade” in a successful celebration of the students’ diverse backgrounds and a sense of global unity. And teachers were praised for creatively incorporating digital tools for learning to offer kids personalized support and immediate academic feedback.
Q1. What is the regular school day schedule for students at Parsons Elementary School?
Ans. Student hours are 8:50am – 3:20pm on regular school days. The office hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Q2. What is Parsons Elementary School’s policy on students bringing cell phones to campus?
Ans. Phones may be brought to school for use after school, but must be turned off and kept in a book bag. Devices used during the day will be confiscated.
Q3. How do Parsons Elementary School students earn the “Success Bell”?
Ans. Scholars who meet or exceed their academic and personal goals get to ring the Success Bell each week to celebrate.
Q4. What is the Parsons Elementary School "Classroom Learning Community" model?
Ans. This new model gives students ownership, voice and choice in their classrooms to create a more engaging learning environment.
Q5. Does Parsons Elementary School have any supervised after-school programs for students?
Ans. Yes, the ACE After School Program offers a safe place for students to do homework and participate in enrichment activities until 6:00 pm.
