Oakland Park Alternative Elementary recently celebrated the grand opening of its renovated “Arts & Ecology” courtyard, providing students with a special outdoor area for quiet study and environmental research. Local leaders from the Columbus community attended the ribbon cutting ceremony in the courtyard that featured a special performance by the campus choir. The school also is adding specialized instruction in digital music composition and theatrical set design to its performing arts track for 2026.

Ans. We are a traditional alternative school that believes in a structured curriculum based on the principles of equity, integrity, and respect.
Q2. How does the school help students with significant learning difficulties?
Ans. We have a stand alone resource room for students with multiple disabilities and have programs to meet the individual needs of students in the upper grades.
Q3. Are there preschools in Oakland Park?
Ans. Our highly-rated pre-kindergarten program prepares students with a strong foundation and offers accommodations for students requiring special attention.
Q4. What kinds of extracurricular clubs do students have?
Ans. Students can join Robotics, Coding, Spanish and Soccer to name a few.

Ans. We combine real-world applications with practical lessons in our curriculum to prepare students for success and for lives of service.
