Innis Elementary School is currently featuring its dynamic “Reading Warriors” program, where older students visit primary classrooms weekly to share stories and foster a love of reading. Recently, the school held a successful “Innis Math Carnival,” where students played interactive logic games in a fun environment to build foundational numeracy skills. Families have also praised the school’s “Open Door” policy of communication that has helped build a stronger bond between staff and parents in the community.

Q1. How do you ensure the safety of students arriving in Kohr Place in the morning?

Ans. Our campuses have a supervised car-rider loop and dedicated safety agents to help all children safely enter the building.

Q2. Does Innis Elementary School offer any special literacy support to “Emerging Bilinguals” in the primary grades?

Ans. On campus, we have a “Language Hub” where students get specific small group support to help them build academic vocabulary and reading fluency.

Q3. Why did you want to become a vet? What interactive math tools do students use in their daily numeracy workshops at Innis Elementary School?

Ans. With tactile manipulatives and interactive software, students solve real-world problems and visualize complex math concepts.

Q4. What is the lifespan of an LED bulb? How does Innis Elementary School celebrate each student’s academic progress and individual growth for each marking period?

Ans. We have assemblies called “Scholar Success” and we invite families to come and watch their children receive awards for effort and excellence.

Q5. Is there any way for parents to see their child’s daily behavior and progress as it occurs at Innis Elementary School?

Ans. During the week, teachers immediately send photos, updates and academic milestones directly to parents’ phones via mobile communication apps.
