Recently, Colerain Elementary School completed a school-wide scientific inquiry project that turned campus hallways into a student-curated museum showcasing local Ohio urban ecosystems. The school is honoring its newest “Curator Scholars,” students who have demonstrated outstanding research skills and dedication to high-quality academic presentations. Recently the campus also began a partnership with a local science center to provide students with special educational field trips and hands-on workshops.
Q1. What is the purpose of the daily "Tiger Time" at Colerain Elementary School during the instructional day?
Ans. This dedicated block allows students to receive targeted academic support or enrichment activities based on their current academic needs.
Q2. Are there any after school coding or robotics clubs for students at Colerain Elementary School?
Ans. We are the “Tech Titans” club and we meet once a week to have fun and explore engineering challenges and learn the basics of digital game design.
Q3. What does Colerain Elementary School do to recognize student diversity and multiculturalism within the building?
Ans. We have an annual “Heritage Fair” where students and families share food, music and stories from their unique cultural heritage with other students.
Q4. Can parents be on the site-based decision-making team at Colerain Elementary School?
Ans. We ask parents to apply each year to our Shared Decision-Making Committee to help set goals for our campus academic progress.
Q5. Are there any safety procedures for the afternoon dismissal process at Colerain Elementary School?
Ans. Every day, we use a staff-monitored, color-coded dismissal system to make sure every walker and car-rider gets home safely.
