Beatty Park Elementary School is currently celebrating recognition for having one of the highest daily student attendance rates in the district for the spring semester. Recently, the school has launched a series of workshops, “Parent University,” that equip families with practical strategies to support their children’s literacy and social skills at home. The campus also recently held a dedication ceremony for its new and improved “Wellness Center,” which is designed to foster a culture of support and inclusion for all students.
Q1. What does Beatty Park Elementary do to prepare its youngest students for a full elementary campus?
Ans. We have "Move-Up" days where students can go to their future campuses and feel comfortable with larger school settings and the daily routines.
Q2. Does Beatty Park Elementary School have a sensory room for students needing a quiet space to reflect?
Ans. We have a sensory room on campus that is set up specifically for students to use activities to help them calm down and refocus.
Q3. What types of play-based learning centers are used at Beatty Park Elementary School to develop social skills?
Ans. Dramatic play and building centers fill the classrooms helping children to learn to work together, share and solve problems on a daily basis.
Q4. Are there any “Parent and Me” library hours at Beatty Park Elementary School during the regular school week?
Ans. We invite parents into the library on Friday mornings to hear a story and select books to take home and share.
Q5. How does the nurse at Beatty Park Elementary School help families with the medical needs of students?
Ans. Our full time nurse works with parents to develop individual care plans and ensures all health needs are safely managed on-site each day.
