MC-2 STEM High School students partner with NASA Glenn Research Center through hands-on STEM experiences, including job shadowing, robotics, and career exploration in science and engineering fields. The school earned an Alcoa Foundation grant as a regional runner-up in the Make an Impact: Change our 2morrow energy conservation competition for its carbon calculator project. MC-2 scholars compete in FIRST Robotics, building and programming a 120-pound robot for regional matches with mentors from industry. Beginning in 2020, the 10th-grade class moved to Tri-C’s Manufacturing Technology Center at Metro Campus, giving students access to state-of-the-art STEM resources and college courses through Youth Technology Academy.
