More than 150 community members came to Max S Hayes High School for the first Cleveland Board of Education meeting to collect public input on CMSD’s Building Brighter Futures plan. Open Doors Academy’s afterschool program at Max Hayes expanded from 19 to 62 scholars by December thanks to student-centered activities and consistent encouragement. The school maintains its career-technical focus with pathways in manufacturing and skilled trades, preparing students for high-demand fields. Students also participate in athletics including baseball, volleyball, soccer and basketball building school spirit and teamwork throughout the year.
