Sheridan Elementary School welcomed Ashley Sitzman as its new principal on July 1, 2025. Her appointment was part of districtwide administrative changes for the 2024–2025 school year. She succeeded Amy Clark, who transitioned to a new role as the LPS Director of Continuous Improvement.

Ans. Students read short sections, then summarize the most important point using teacher-guided prompts.
Q2. How does the school introduce basic exploration of soil moisture?
Ans. Students compare dry and damp soil samples to observe how moisture affects texture and weight.
Q3. What routines support students during math warm-up rotations?
Ans. Students begin with brief tasks at different stations, using timers and posted expectations to keep transitions smooth.
Q4. How does Sheridan guide students in distinguishing literal from nonliteral phrases?
Ans. Teachers present common expressions and help students decide whether the meaning matches the actual words.
Q5. How does the school support early understanding of transportation systems in communities?
Ans. Students discuss buses, bikes, walking paths and cars to understand how people move from place to place in a city.
