Kahoa Elementary School welcomed local firefighters for an educational visit in November 2025. Kindergarten students learned key fire safety lessons and had the chance to explore a fire truck. The visit offered a memorable hands-on learning experience.
Q1. How does Kahoa help kids learn about comparing densities early on?
Ans. Students compare how objects of the same size feel heavier or lighter, which helps them see how density changes.
Q2. How does the school help students figure out what the author meant in simple texts?
Ans. Teachers help students figure out if a text is meant to teach, entertain, or give information.
Q3. What do students do to get around the art stations in the classroom?
Ans. Students use color-coded paths, rotation timers, and cleanup cards to move quickly between creative tasks.
Q4. What does Kahoa do to teach kids about how the seasons change in their area?
Ans. Students look at pictures or changes in the weather and outside to see how plants, animals, and the weather change over the course of the year.
Q5. What does the school do to help students breathe mindfully before tests or quizzes?
Ans. Before starting their tests, teachers lead students in short breathing exercises to help them relax and focus.
