Latest News

The Lindbergh Elementary school has started a new Reading Buddy Program for second graders. Every Wednesday morning, they will be paired with a volunteer from the community. School staff say that the program, which has only been going on for a few weeks, has already gotten students and volunteers excited. Early signs show that reading fluency and engagement are getting better. Families were invited to a kickoff event where volunteers read with students. The program will run through the fall semester, and then it will be looked at to see if it can be expanded to other grade levels. School leaders say this program shows how important it is for the school to work on improving literacy and building community connections in a hands-on way.
