Hillcrest Elementary School, which is part of Baltimore County Public Schools, is a public K–5 school that serves about 675 students. The student–teacher ratio is about 18:1. The school is located at 1500 Frederick Road, Catonsville, Maryland 21228. The student body is made up of about 49% minorities, including White, Asian, Hispanic, and Black students. Hillcrest does well in school, with about 50% of students doing well in math and about 64% doing well in reading and language arts, both of which are above the state averages for Maryland. The school is one of the best elementary schools in Maryland. It focuses on holistic growth through integrated instruction, character education, and community involvement, which helps students grow personally, socially, and academically.

The Baltimore County Public Schools are thinking about changing the boundaries so that some students will move from Hillcrest Elementary to nearby schools starting in the 2026–27 school year. Ans. Hillcrest Elementary has a Gifted and Talented (G/T) program that offers advanced learners extra math, reading, and critical thinking activities to keep them on their toes.

Ans. Yes, the school has a lot of extracurricular activities, like an art club, a chess club, a choir, and STEM-based after-school programs that help kids be creative and solve problems.

Ans. Yes, the school has special education services, individualized education plans (IEPs), and staff members who can help students with a wide range of learning needs.
