The Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones helped launch the 1619 Freedom School — a free after-school literacy program — which began with a soft launch at Cunningham.Nearly 50 Waterloo 4th- and 5th-graders attended sessions, working in both large and small groups focused on reading. The program aims to close the literacy gap, especially for Black students.

Ans. Students can join clubs for music, art, PE, STEM, robotics, and the student council.

Ans. The school offers IEPs, small group instruction, resource support, and therapy services when necessary.

Ans. Yes, Cunningham has programs to help students grow, faster academic paths, and learning through projects.
