The school celebrated Read Across America Week (March 2025) with guest readers including local news personalities, promoting literacy and student excitement about reading.
Loess Hills opened registration for kindergarten for the 2025–26 school year. This gives families the chance to sign up for its unique, tech-focused Pre-K/Kindergarten program.
Q1. What makes the curriculum at Loess Hills Elementary School different?
Ans. Loess Hills has a computer programming focus, and it teaches coding and STEM skills to kids in Pre-K through 5th grade to help them learn how to solve problems and use technology.
Q2. What does the school do to help students who are learning English as a second language (ELL)?
Ans. The school has structured ESL classes and sheltered classrooms to help multilingual students do well in school while they learn English.
Q3. Are there technology programs that happen outside of school or after school?
Ans. Yes, students can join after-school STEM clubs, coding workshops, robotics groups, and other activities that focus on innovation and learning.
Q4. What does Loess Hills Elementary do to help kids grow socially and emotionally?
Ans. The school uses character education, restorative practices, and peer mentoring to create a caring, emotionally aware community.
Q5: How can parents get involved in the Loess Hills community?
Ans. Parents can help out with STEM activities, go to coding nights, join the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), and support school technology projects.
