See top schools in Des MoinesMoulton Elementary School is a public school in Des Moines, Iowa, that serves kids in grades K–5. It is part of the Des Moines Independent Community School District. With between 520 and 550 students, the school is one of the largest elementary schools in the district. There are 14 students in a class, and one teacher is in charge of them. This gives learning a place to happen. The main goals of Moulton Elementary School's traditional academic curriculum are to help kids read and write better, do better in math, and get them involved in projects that help the community. The school has a lot of different kinds of kids. A lot of the students are Hispanic, Black, or mixed-race, and about 80–85% of them are not white. Data from all over the state shows that about 30–34% of students are good at math and about 35% are good at English Language Arts. This shows that they still have more schoolwork to do. The district spends between $15,000 and $16,000 on programs, technology access, and other services that help students. The school is in an area of the city where homes are cheap. Having strong ties to the community and getting families involved is helpful. Moulton Elementary School is popular because it has a lot of different kinds of students, programs that help them, and a promise to help them do better in school.
