In 2025, the Ames Community School District Board approved a plan to renovate the school. This plan includes a brand new playground for Sawyer Elementary. The equipment is expected to arrive in May, and construction is set to begin on June 2 and end on July 31.

Ans. Sawyer Elementary has ESL support, Title I services, special education programs, and individualized learning plans to help all students do well.
