Princess Victoria Kaiulani Elementary School highlighted its new #ReadyKeiki pre-K classroom during visits from Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke in late 2024 and early 2025. The visits drew attention to the school’s expanded early learning opportunities. The classroom is part of a statewide effort to increase access to high-quality pre-K education.
Q1. How does Princess Kaiulani teach students to be kind every day?
Ans. Discussions in the classroom focus on small things that improve the environment, like helping others or saying nice things.
Q2. How does the school help kids learn about the order of stories by acting them out?
Ans. Students act out parts of a story to better understand what happens at the beginning, middle, and end.
Q3. What daily tasks help students keep track of shared classroom timers?
Ans. Students use timers in turns and put them back in the right places after they are done.
Q4. How does Princess Kaiulani help students learn how to listen respectfully?
Ans. Teachers show students how to make eye contact, sit still, and take turns when they talk.
Q5. What does the school do to help students think about their behavior?
Ans. Students reflect on their daily choices and how they impacted their learning and relationships.
