Being Updated
Makalapa Elementary School is currently on its extended winter break. There is no school from December 22, 2025, through January 2, 2026. Students and families will return after the new year.
Q1. How does Makalapa assist students in understanding the routines associated with being near an airport?
Ans. Teachers talk about being aware of your surroundings and following directions right away to help keep people safe and focused near busy areas.
Q2: How does the school help students think about their efforts and results early on?
Ans. Students talk about how doing their best can help them get better, even when things are hard.
Q3. What routines help students keep track of shared classroom calendars?
Ans. Students look over the dates on the calendar every day, write down events that are coming up, and work together to update the calendar's pictures.
Q4. How does Makalapa help students learn how to say hello in a polite way in the hallways?
Ans. When passing other classes or staff, teachers tell students to say hello politely and keep their voices down.
Q5. How does the school help students become ready for group projects?
Ans. Students use checklists to gather supplies so that group work can start right away.
