Latest News

The Governor Sanford B. Dole Middle School in Honolulu, Hawaii, is doing great things! The Hawaii State AFL-CIO's "Labor of Love" project recently helped the school. Over 350 people from 23 unions, teachers, staff, students, and community partners worked together to improve the school's facilities. Thanks to the large gifts from Hawaii's unions, the contribution is worth more than $85,000. The volunteers painted the campus and did a lot of other things, like putting in new benches, a washer and dryer, and a place to fill water bottles.

This program shows how committed the school is to making the community a better place and getting people involved. Principal Mavis Tasaka thanked everyone and said that the project's goal is to create a place where students can show PRIDE (Persistence, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence) and the community can feel like they are part of the Dole Middle School family.
