Islands High School student Holly Kachmar has been named by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2026 Georgia Scholar for excellence in academics and leadership in the community. The school’s boys soccer team also won its first-ever GHSA state championship in May 2026, finishing the season with a record of 22 wins and 2 losses.
