Latest News

Registration is open for the upcoming year, and staff members at Winn Holt Elementary School are helping local families process documents on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the main office. Over the break, the school is running its summer reading challenge, using physical reading logs for the younger kids and the Beanstack digital platform for third through fifth graders. Families are also picking up the newly finalized Winn Holt Elementary School school supply lists to shop before the upcoming term starts.

FAQ

Q1. What is the safest way to drop my child off by car in the morning?

Ans. Use the official car rider loop on the side of the building. Pull all the way forward and wait for a staff member to open the door so your child can hop out safely onto the sidewalk.

Q2. What do the kids do for recess if it's raining outside?

Ans. They stay right in their classrooms. Teachers will put on entertaining dance or exercise videos on the smartboard or let the kids play board games and draw with friends.

Q3. What should I do when my child is sick and misses a day of school?

Ans. Keep them home until they feel better, and send a note or doctor's slip to the teacher when they go back to school so the absence is marked as excused.

Q4. Can parents go with their kids on school field trips?

Ans. Teachers will ask for parent volunteers if they need extra hands to chaperone. If you are picked, you just have to fill out the school safety paperwork before the day of the trip.

Q5. Does the school serve breakfast every day?

Ans. Yes, the cafeteria lines open up every morning before the first bell. Kids can grab a hot breakfast or a quick breakfast bag to take with them to their classrooms.
