Being Updated
The administration at Rock Springs Elementary School is setting up for the new academic year by rolling out the updated grade-level classroom supply lists early on the school portal. To make the back-to-school transition as smooth as possible for neighborhood families, the front office has already marked Thursday, July 30th, on the calendar for the official Rock Springs Elementary School Open House. Families can plan to stop by between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM to tour the building and meet their child's new classroom teachers.
Q1. My child left their jacket on the playground. Where should we look for it?
Ans. Just have them inspect the big Lost and Found racks right by the gym doors. If your child's name is written on the tag, the office staff can usually return it right back to their classroom.
Q2. How do I put money on my child's lunch account?
Ans. You can do it online through MyPaymentsPlus. It lets you load money with your card, see what snacks your child is buying, and set up text alerts when their balance becomes low.
Q3. Can I walk my child to their classroom door in the mornings?
Ans. You can walk them to class on the very first day of school. After that, you'll drop them off at the front door or car loop, and school staff will ensure they get down the hall safely.
Q4. What is the rule about kids bringing cell phones to school?
Ans. Kids can keep a phone in their backpack for emergency rides home, but it has to stay turned off and out of sight all day. They can't take them out during class, recess, or on the bus.
Q5. How do I find out if school is closed for hazardous winter weather?
Ans. Gwinnett County schools will send a text message and an app alert straight to your phone through ParentSquare. They also put the news on local TV stations and the main district website.
