Being Updated
Kanoheda Elementary School is running its annual Kinder Camp to help the next wave of young learners get completely comfortable with the building layout, daily classroom routines, and morning arrival schedules. To make sure the new students feel like a true part of the campus right away, the front office has official school spirit shirts up for sale. Meanwhile, the school library staff is heavily focusing on summer reading by helping kids sign up for the local public library reading challenges.
Q1. What is the "Kanoheda Cub" reward I keep hearing about? Ans. It is just the school's way of praising good behavior. Teachers hand out little tickets or points when kids are caught being extra kind or working hard, which they can turn in for small school prizes.
Q2. How do I get my child signed up for the free breakfast program? Ans. You don't need to sign up for anything. Every single student at the school can grab a free breakfast from the cafeteria lines when they arrive in the morning before class starts.
Q3. Can I walk my kindergartener directly to their classroom door during the first week of school? Ans. Parents can usually walk their kids to class on the very first day of school. Thereafter, school staff will meet the kids at the front doors and guide them down the halls so the building stays safe.
Q4. What happens if I am late to pick up my child from the car rider loop? Ans. If you aren't there by the time the loop closes, your child will be brought inside to wait in the main office. You will have to park, walk to the front door, and sign them out with your ID.
Q5. Does Kanoheda Elementary School have a dual-language program? Ans. Yes, they have a Spanish dual-language immersion track for certain grades. Kids in that program spend half their school day learning in English and the other half learning in Spanish.
