The staff and student body at Craig Elementary School are celebrating their long-standing neighborhood pride as a formally designated National Blue Ribbon School. The campus recently brought families together for its massive annual Culture Night celebration, where students displayed hand-crafted Craig Colts culture dolls to highlight local diversity. Looking ahead to the next session, the parent-teacher organization is heavily utilizing ParentSquare to keep moms and dads dialed into upcoming start-of-school orientation schedules.

FAQ

Q1. My child wants to join the Craig Elementary School running club. How does that work?

Ans. Keep an eye out for flyers in the early fall. The club meets on specific mornings before the first bell rings, and kids are able to track their laps and earn small fitness tokens.

Q2. What happens if my child loses or damages a school library book?

Ans. You'll just have to pay for the cost of the book. You can send cash or a money order into the front office or pay online through MyPaymentsPlus so the library can order a replacement.

Q3. Can parents volunteer in the classroom or help out with field trips?

Ans. Yes, teachers love having parent helpers. You just need to fill out the quick volunteer safety paperwork at the front desk before you can help in class or go on trips.

Q4. Does Craig Elementary School host a book fair during the year?

Ans. They usually run a Scholastic Book Fair in the media center twice a year—once in the fall and once in the spring. Kids are allowed to go with their classes during the week to shop for new books and posters.

Q5. What is the policy on students wearing hats or hoodies inside the building?

Ans. Students can wear hoods and hats to school on cold days, but they must take them off and keep them down once they step inside the school building's hallways and classrooms.
