Garland V. Stewart Middle Magnet School is getting more and more attention for its great STEM programs and the success of its students. The school was named a National Magnet School of Distinction in 2026. It also won the Project Lead The Way Distinguished School award for the second year in a row. Students recently took part in the Student Astronaut Challenge and went on to compete at the national level. They also took part in NASA-related activities related to the Artemis II mission. Also, a $77 million project to redevelop the campus has been approved. The goal is to make the campus a more modern place to learn with better facilities.
