Shanon Kiser, an intervention coach and technology lead at the school, was named the Glenn-Howell Distinguished Educator of the Year (2025–2026). This is a major achievement because it highlights: Excellence in teaching and student support and Strong instructional leadership within the school. The City of Tallahassee approved support for Safe Routes to School grant funding benefiting Springwood Elementary. This initiative aims to: Improve student safety for walking/biking to school and Enhance surrounding infrastructure and accessibility
