Shanon Kiser, an intervention coach and technology lead at the school, was named the Glenn-Howell Distinguished Educator of the Year (2025–2026). This is a major achievement because it highlights: Excellence in teaching and student support and Strong instructional leadership within the school. The City of Tallahassee approved support for Safe Routes to School grant funding benefiting Springwood Elementary.
