Lake Como School entered the current school year with its "A" state rating intact and the Lake Como Lions community actively celebrating that achievement. The school participated in OCPS's Black History Month "Still I Rise" showcase and ran a Candy Gram fundraiser for students in the fall semester, with a Monster Mash community event on Gore Street drawing families for a neighborhood celebration. The school also participated in the OCPS ESE Parent Survey and the district-wide Let's Read reading challenge. Lake Como's PK-8 span and Project Lead The Way curriculum continue to be the features families most frequently highlight when choosing the school.

Families interested in the GATE program should contact the school at (407) 897-6420 to learn about the referral process.

Q3. What makes Lake Como School different from a traditional elementary school?

Ans. Lake Como School's PK-8 configuration sets it apart from the typical K-5 elementary model.

Q4. How does Lake Como School communicate with families?

Ans. Lake Como School uses ParentSquare for school-wide communications, and the school website at lakecomok8.ocps.net is actively maintained with news, events, and updates.

Ans. After completing 8th grade at Lake Como School, students continue to an OCPS high school serving the Gore Street and Conway area.
