East Lake Elementary marked a meaningful milestone this school year: the campus is celebrating 20 years of serving the East Lake community. In those two decades, thousands of Eagles have come through its doors and gone on to middle and high school with the knowledge and skills built on North Tanner Road. The school is actively participating in the OCPS Let's Read district challenge and has been running its calendar of family engagement events throughout the semester. The campus recently updated its welcome message for the year, emphasizing curiosity, talent discovery, and the celebration of each student's individual progress.

Ans. East Lake Elementary uses the SOAR identity to capture how the school approaches student development. Students, staff, and families all work toward helping every child reach their potential. The mascot is the Eagle, and the culture around Soaring to Success has been a consistent thread through the school's 20-year history in the community.

Ans. East Lake Elementary does offer a Gifted and Talented program through Orange County Public Schools. If your child may qualify, speak with their teacher or contact the school at the North Tanner Road campus to find out when the referral cycle opens each fall.
